Toyota Tundra Radio Stereo Fix

This video shows you step by step how to fix a toyota tundra radio stereo that keeps restarting and freezing up. The whole fix only took around 20 minutes and man do I wish I performed this earlier. You will need a USB flash drive and a computer. All you have to do is go to the link for Toyota’s Downloads and check to see if your stereo has an update patch to fix bugs and issues. Thankfully mine did and you simply download it to the flash drive, then bring it out to your toyota and install it. The intermittent restarting and freezing of the stereo was causing an extreme amount of annoyance and this simple trick fixed it all!

  1. I have a 2008 and the stereo doesn’t turn on sometimes when I start the car.

  2. Dealership told me “Toyota’s aren’t compatible with iPhones”. Period. End of story. Lol, thanks Toyota for making a vehicle that isn’t compatible with the most widely used phone on the planet, good planning on your part.

  3. 170$ for my local dealership to fix mine… or just to check for the issue … like wtf

  4. Thanks Matt! Followed your instructions from video. Quick and Easy. Perfect Fix!

  9. Did it fix the problem ? Cuz mine is doing the same😔

  10. Not available for non-gps unit.

  11. My display is looping the Toyota logo and the Caution screen then going blank. Will this update work if I am unable to navigate to the setup screen??

  12. Thank you! It’s been frustrating to say the least!

  13. Any thoughts on if the screen doesn't stay on long enough for the update to download?

    Any ideas?

  18. I want to thank you for posting this video. This problem has been driving me crazy for years. The other day on an hour and half trip, four times the radio locks up then reboots. I hope this works. Everything went as you stated in the video.

  19. Dealership said it will charge me over $200 also. I called Corp. for complain and they had dealership did it for free.

  20. Did the update and and itstill reboots every 5 minutes. I’m going to replace the head unit. I’m done with the JBL.

  21. Good video. I have been experiencing the same problems also. I followed the steps you have here but it looks like there is no update for my radio. Is there an alternative?

  22. Hi, great video. Unfortunately I have the same issue started two days ago. I followed your link and entered the exact model and year but no updates are available for me. Am I doing something wrong? I tried it several times but no luck. I see several other Youtuber have tried and have been successful to see the download but for some reason the update does not show up for me. It says no update available for your multiunit system. Mine is without Nav. It has update for the with Nav system. Can I use the Update for with Nav on without Nav system. How do I check to see what model is mine because mine does not have Map but it does have App bottom. Sorry for many questions.

  23. Thanks for the video worked like a charm!!

  24. Thank you very much. Well made video. It really saved me time trying to figure it out.

  25. Thanks! That saved me a lot of time trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with my Tundra. Keep up the good work man!

  26. Really good explanation. I did mine six months ago and the reboot problems have started again recently. I suspect an iPhone update changed something with the Bluetooth.
